Por lo mismo, al hablar de poetas actuales del sur de Chile, estamos precisando una zona de producción literaria sin pretender con ello configurar un sistema literaria con sus propias reglas y relaciones creativas. Desde el punto de vista temporal, nos interesa dar cuenta de aquellos poetas que surgen con posterioridad al año 1973, que comienzan a publicar alrededor de 1975 y cuya producción se encuentra todavía en curso. En esta perspectiva esperamos dar cuenta tanto de los autores más relevantes como del proceso productivo en sus líneas de mayor vigencia y actualidad. Incluimos en esta antología poetas desde Chiloé a Concepción, dado que en esta zona se ha configurado un espacio literario y cultural de real interés, lo que se expresa no sólo en la producción de algunos textos muy significativos, sino también en la constitución de un circuito de gestación y difusión de los mismos. Actividades como la publicación de revistas, la generación de sellos editoriales, la creación de grupos literarios y la organización de recitales y encuentros han sido parte inseparable de este fenómeno cultural. Lo anterior tal vez no sea sino uno de los signos específicos de la dinámica de permanente interrelación entre la literatura y el contexto vital en que se inserta; por lo mismo, este trabajo constituye una muestra de este proceso en un momento determinado de su desarrollo, esto es, el de la irrupción y consolidación de una promoción de escritores en el espacio habitualmente denominado sur de Chile. De esta manera, nuestra antología incluye tanto una colección de textos, de por sí significativos, como también estudios que pretenden contextualizar y enriquecer las posibles lecturas de los mismos en sus relaciones de contigí¼idad y disyunción. Es necesario detenernos a destacar que nuestro trabajo no pretende ser representativo de la totalidad de la poesía producida en el sur de Chile, Es evidente gue existe una serie de poetas cuyo trabajo obedece a patrones literarios ya ampliamente superados. De igual forma, no hemos incluido promociones de poetas recientemente emergidos en este panorama y que desarollan su trabajo en forma individual o en diversos talleres o agrupa-ciones literarias, por su carácter todavía incipiente. Por otra parte, es significativo precisar que esta antología no incluye a aquellos poetas que Inicíaron su trabajo en el sur de Chile para posteriormente desarrollarlo en otras zonas del país o del extranjero.
